Hello all,

I want a budget replacement prop for my motor but I can't find a match using the serial number. The number on the prop is 48-73136-13. I am not sure but I am thinking this is a 10 3/8 x 13? If so, do I just find another prop that is 10 3/8 x 13 or do I need to know anything else for it to fit properly?

Appreciate your help!

Re: I need a replacement prop but serial number does not match

Welcome,
Go to the prop store page and look up 13" props for your motor. A 13" prop of approximately 10 3/8" will work fine.
Diameter is a secondary consideration. A Solas Amita or Rubex are the same prop, the( Rubex has a removable hub) they have a good successful reputation.
If you're happy with your performance stick with the same pitch.
If you think you need to change; answer the Qs in the stickys at the top of the prop forum.

Thanks for the reply steelespike,
The problem is I have to find a prop using the the serial number (on the prop) as no one has been able to figure out what year motor I have. I'd hate to order something that didn't fit.
Prop number: 48-73136-13
Mariner 40hp (Japan)
Motor number: 40BE 676 B L 403233

Is it the original prop? If so a yamaha dealer should be able to look that up. Also look under the various manufacturers for that number, some years back I had a similiar situation and found my prop number under the "michigan wheel" manufacturers website.
