I need an OMC shift cable

Anyone know the best place to buy a shift cable for an '87 3.0 cobra? I checked iboats, but I don't see it listed. Thanx.

I'm having the same problem.
The cable listed on IBOATS crosses over to the oem number for 1988 and up
Cobra. For some reason, the '86 and '87 use a cable with a different part
number. My local marina quoted $250.00 for the cable that I need.
The one on IBOATS costs about $50.00 less, but I do not think it will work.

The part number which I think you need is O.E.M. #987662, and the O.E.M
#987661 is actually about $100.00 less.
I don't know why the huge price differance.
