I need Frank Acampora!

I was on Marineengine.com and jerryjerry told me to come here and ask you my question. How and is it possible to switch over the whole ignition system from a 1986 Force 125 to a 1978 Chrysler 105? I feel my CDI is unreliable and don't want to pay $270 for a new one. But I do have a spare parts Force 125... Got any good info or tips?

If the 1978 is Prestolite ignition then there is absolutely no problem. If it is a distributor ignition, then go to page 7 and read the post by Tater76. It explains it all in detail.

Yep, as Frank said it worked for me, and if you stay tuned I will give video of the first run. I am presently waiting for the lower unit to get back from the shop for skeg repair. Of course I had to drop it off at the height of boating season :facepalm:
