I Need Help 35 Hp Johnson Update

I Clean The Carb On It It Was A Lil Drity....but I Pump The Primer Buld From The Gas Tank An It Get's Real Hard Then I Try To Start An It Wont Just Back Fires...but If I Take Out The Top Spark Plug An Put Gas In It It Cranks Some Time's An Runs Great But Then Backfire Or Pop Then Smoke Comes Out Then It Shuts Off Today I Tryied To Get It To Crank An Nothing Just Rolls Over Even If I Put Gas In The Spark Plug Hole It Will Fire Then Shut Right Back Down....im Tinkin Maybe Timing But I Dont Know Where To Line The Number's On The Flywheele To??

Your previousposts leave a whole lot of unresolved questions about the condition of the motor, especially the crank bearings issue and what has been done to it so far. If it was worked on by an unqualified "mechanic", the flywheel key may be sheared. You will have to remove the flywheel to find out. While you have it off, grab hold of the shaft and see if you can move it fore and aft. If it moves, the crank bearings are shot...as you have been suggesting all along. You can clean the carb till doomsday and it won't fix that.

Make sure that if you're adding gas directly to the engine either thru the carb or into the cylinder directly, you only add pre mix, not just plain gas.
