Screenshot_20190624-191844_Gallery.jpg this is my current roller. I need a new one to replace the split one in front. It measures 8" wide and has a 3/4" steel shaft going through it.
I order an Attwood 11215-1 roller that said the measurements were 8", and came measuring 7.5".
I have found one in the iBoats catalog made my "Tie down engineering" that says its measured at 8" MFG #86409 But doesn't give ID.
I don't necessarily want to buy another roller that I'll have to send back .
Trailer is a 1958 Tee-Nee

The Attwood would work if you moved the clamps in a 1/4" on each side. The roller doesn't have to be exactly 8" to work.

Yes agree. That would include drilling new holes, or welding on new tabs. And finding new shaft holders for the smaller diameter shaft. It would be cool if I can find the exact size I need. If it turns out I can't, then yes I am fully capable of modifying the trailer.

I would just put a couple of 1/4 inch spacers on each side of the roller and be done with it, the Tee Nee has not been around for a long time now and I doubt you will find and exact replacement for it. Just got to do some brainstorming to get something worked out.

My bunk roller that looks just like yours was starting to split, so I removed the roller, cleaned it wth solvent and then wrapped it with about 3 layers of electrical tape...it's been just fine since I did it....easy fix/no problem!....

Use a 7.5" standard roller that you found, and it's 5/8" shaft. Cut down a wheel reducer bushing ( search Mcmaster Carr ) so that you can slide the assembly into your factory 3/4" mount. You can adjust your spacing by the length of the bushings, since the 3/4" bushing cannot go through a 5/8" hole it will act as a washer/ spacer.

I'm pretty sure the Mcmaster Carr part number you would need is 23275T14 and you could cut it in half and trim it down to do both sides.

Now we're making headway thank you!

Honestly I would put on the 7.5" roller and call it a day. A half inch play side to side isn't going to affect the function of the roller.
