I have a 1988 17ft tracker with a 1988 mercury 35 on it. It has a stainless steel prop on it now but not sure of the pitch. It takes it a long time to plain out. It will run about 26 mph now but takes forever to get there. Just wondering what pitch and prop i should get.

Welcome,we will try to figure this out for you.We will need some more help from you.
We need the prop size(under the prop nut or at the base of the blades). We also need your wide open throttle rpm
and gps speed.
A induction tach will do if no tach now.
We need the tach to help determine how well your setup works, what prop may help and to tell the results.
Its important the motor is able to operate close to its max wot rpm rating.Of course you can operate at what ever rpm you like
once established. If you read the stickys at the top of the prop forum it may help understand prop selection better.

Welcome To avoid confusion you should start your own thread. There is a tab at the top of the forum.
Read the stickys at the top of the prop forum. You should get us your present wot rpm and gps speed.
So we know present performance at approximately sea level.
Power will be down about 18% at 6000 ft. I'm a seat of the pants guy my calculation indicates about a 21" pitch.
I think the best way is to run the 26 and let us know your lightly loaded wot rpm and gps speed at elevation.
