I have a 1973 evinrude 135 with no power tilt and trim. I would like to add this and am wondering if its something I can do? And what would I need to get?

I'd agree. You may very well spend as much getting a used OMC unit for your motor as you would just buying the aftermarket CMC unit. I recently bought one (CMC PT130) for my 55hp Johnson. It was an easy job, took me about 4 hours total, but I had to make a bracket to mount the engine to the unit since it's a clamp on motor. I didn't want to spend $80 on their bracket when I could make one for free. Allowed me to raise the engine a few inches as well. You just bolt the unit on the boat, bolt the engine to the unit, and from there it's pretty much plug and play. You just have to mount 2 relays and the switch, and that's it.

If your motor were a '78 or newer you could just hop on eBay and find a nice used unit for a couple hundred. Unfortunately the TnT units for the pre-'78 motors are rare and go for LOTS of money and even then who knows what condition it could be in when you get it. The motors for them are also tough to find and expensive. The CMC units are expensive but, in my opinion, a better investment. Heck you can sell the CMC unit for close to what you paid for it after a few years if you get a new boat. You really can't go wrong with those (though your wallet will groan).
