I have a 1975 70hp evinrude motor and i need to put a kill switch on my boat.
can i hook it on the on the key switch or the motor. witch is better and witch switch is the better one to buy for working man tur Bassfishing.

Hi, my take will be that the kill switch should be on the motor but i would go to a service shop and get some more help from a marine service shop,there you can buy your switch if you don't have it already.

my take on it is you kill engine by grounding it out when you turn key off.... like a lawn mower.
kill switch would go from kill wire on engine to gnd on engine... it would be lanyard attached so when you fall overboard it stops. if so that would be a normally closed circuit that the lanyard holds open. I believe you can buy the lanyard switch....and lanyards as individual items for a reasonable price.
is that what your asking for?
