I/O changing water pump impeller question

I have an Alpha 1 gen 2 I/O. I am changing the water pump impeller and have one quick question. I am using service manual 14 and it is telling me that if it has an aluminum dam which I believe it does cause it is all stock and looks to be. The book it telling me to put a bead of Permatex Ultra Blue Silicone sealant on the top of the water pump dam. Another guy told me I don't need this, but I am not sure he new exactly which part I was talking about. So my question is do I need this bead of silicone or not? And if I do need it, can I buy it at any auto parts or is it special marine stuff? Also it says Ultra Blue, is regular blue ok or does it matter?

Should be able to buy it local...It comes in a 3.35 oz tube as #81724

Manual says apply the Ultra Blue sealant with aluminum dam. It should be available at any parts store.

Do not over torque the screws for the impeller housing or you will warp it causing a leak.
