Re: I/O characteristics?

The 2.5 liter "Iron Duke" motor is 120 HP. The 3.0 liter (still a straight four) is 140 hp. (They look the same on the outside - ask me how I know! ) The 3 liter has a 4" bore (like a 350) and the 2.5 liter has approx. a 3.8" bore - (like a 305).

Just for information regarding the performance of this motor - My Dad and I both have Sportcraft boats. Mine is a 24.6' Offshore Walkaround, while his is an 18' Walk-through. I have the 350 with an Alpha 1 in my boat, while he only has the 2.5 liter 120 HP with an Alpha 1 in his. Having said that, he can run circles around me with that combination. I don't know how heavy his boat is, but it does have some thick fiberglass, and it still runs very nice with that combination.
