The seal on my engine cover where it meets the back of the boat is shot. When it rains water gets through and drips on the engine. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I have only owned the boat ('78 20' Grady w/I/O). Looks like the previous owner tried somw weather stripping...doesn't seem to work too well. All suggestions are welcome.........

SPRING IS ALMOST HERE!

Are you sure that is the source?

My i/o gets soaked after a rain, but it is from condensation rising from the water now in the bilge under the engine, which rises to the box top, then drips back down on the engine.

Re: I/O engine cover seal

I get the same thing in my 1986 grady white offshore. I wrote to GW and they never replied. I will be interested if you get any responses from grady white owners. I do know the design of mine is supposed to channel the water to the sides, but that is where it drips on the motor. I may try to run PVC from the channel that catches the water down to the bilge, but I havn't figured it out yet.
