seriously considering picking up an old Starcraft<br />Islander Al. hull and converting it to OB. do you<br />think it would be necc. to fabricate a splashwell?<br />thanks,<br />M.Y.

If you operate on big water, probably. If not...only calm waters, why bother? Unless you just want one, of course.

for use on lake Ontario, which get's as bad/worse<br />than the ocean, only quicker!

Hey MY<br />If you use a bracket to hang the OB on you shouldn't need to worry about a splashwell?<br />But they are spendy!<br />You will need to add a couple braces between the transom and the stringers though.<br />If your thinking of cutting the transom down to hang it on I would think a splashwell would be a good idea.<br /><br />Link

I would definately fab a splashwell. For as little additional work as it is, the alternative is unthinkable....
