I/O WOT as to OB WOT?

I know and believe that in most outboards motors that it is recommended and actually healthy for the motor to run it at the high end of recommended rpm range. I was wondeirng if the same rule applied to most of the I/O 's? in ex. my merc 3.0 is ranged from 4200 to 4600 is it okay, or even recommended to run it at 4500 or 4600 for long periods of time?

No.....<br />75% is a good place for Extended runs....
