Hmmmm, temps in the low 60's, a little breezy, partly cloudy to cloudy sky. I was soooo tempted to flip back the cover, throw on the battery charger and start her up.

Then reality kicked me in the butt... it's only March 11th, still a good chance of sub-freezing temps for 3 or 4 weeks.

Will winter ever end? :(

Re: I resisted Temptation

Your thread is just another reminder why we have to promote global warming. Rising sea levels will bring the ocean closer to me and warmer winters will make for longer boating seasons. :)

I'm going out to start my truck and let it idle a few hours in the driveway. ;)

Re: I resisted Temptation

Yesterday was beautiful here, and I was wishing my boat was ready but it's not. I've had to replace a portion of the deck and we're waiting for the carpet to arrive so I can install it and button everything up.

I'm actually looking forward to taking 'er out this year. We've had our boat for about four years now, and I guess I'm finally getting over the fear that something dreadful is about to happen (to the boat) every time we're out on the lake.

Now, if it would just rain so our lakes would have some water inn them...

I hear ya. It is going to be 78 degrees today. Boats almost ready(just need to check bearings on the trailer, and add gas) and if we were not taking the kids to the circus, to the lake I would go! There is a chance for storms today though, and the ones we had last night were pretty nasty, and they are supposed to be worse today.

Temperatures are great for boating down here on the gulf coast.Too bad the winds have been gusting to 40 mph for the last three weeks.

It almost snowed here last night. Coldest storm of the season. I thought we were already done, but I want as much snow north and west of us to fill the reservoirs, so rock on.

If you guys need a little pre-season motivation, check out the Havasu webcam link I posted on the iboats West get together thread in DC. Cold today, but there will be boat traffic almost all the time from now through October.

Mother Nature tried her best again today... she lifted her skirt for another little tease in the 60's... tried to get me to fall for her. All the while knowing she would slam the door with 30-ish temps tomorrow. Gotta love a woman like that! ;) :D

We, here on the Gulf Coast wish some of that cold weather had made it down here this winter to help cool the waters...but it hasn't and now we're 90 days from another storm season!

Beautiful day in Kansas on Saturday so I painted the first coat of Rustoleum Sailor Blue on my tinny....Next day, Rain, Wind, Tornados, (siren in our backyard went off 3 times on Sunday.) None were close to me place but many folks were hit pretty hard. I guess I'd better better count my blessings and be thankful the boat is still in my backyard, ready for one more coat of paint.
