Hi again.

Well as you may know I have my boat almost ready for the maiden voyage on the new engine, which I was hoping was going to be on my birthday this Friday.

I had the engine in, aligned, outdrive on, everything but the cooling and the alternator. So I went to do the alternator first. The 2 belts I installed (since you cannot change the belt without removing the front engine mount while supporting the engine) are too short. No doubt about it. Brand new from the dealer. Severely aggrivated, I reassembled the hoist, supported the engine, removed the front mount, and compared the new belts to the old belt (why just now I'm saying to myslef) and the old one is longer. I installed the old one as a test and it fits fine, almost too long since it's old.

Sorry for the story, here is my question...

So do I now have to remove the outdrive and realign the engine since I unbolted the engine from the mount? I did not touch the mount's attachment to the floor, just unbolted the engine from it and moved it, the rubber bushing allows enough movement to get the belt on and off, and I just aligned the engine days ago.

Need advice. The seloc manual states that if you are not removing the sterndrive you do not need to do an alignment. I want to hear some real advice.

Thanks...
