ok so two weekends ago i had trouble starting my m60b but i figured out it was a dead battery .... but in the process i left the linkage loose on the bottom two carbs and since it ran fine off the dock i didnt realize it was like that until it was too late
compression was 105 0 105 when i got it home so i pulled the head and this is what i found :

my question is about the groove in the cylinder wall i dont think thats sposed to be there or is it ? looks like the wrist pin broke freee of the retainer clip and wore a deep groove in it if so i know the power heads toast but if it IS sposed to be there what is it for?
this is the middle cylinder btw if that matters

DAMN!! oh well ... does anyone need any parts ? everthing else worked GREAT coils power packs trim and tilt its got a new set of control cables and the carbs have JUST been rebuilt lower unit shifts fine with no water leaks brand new water pump on that(including new housing prop's a 14p ss power tech pm me if you need something ..... id hate to throw all this away only to see another motor that needed a part go to the bone yard too

You can sell the parts and do fairly well. If you part it out, rather than as a junk parts motor, you will get a lot more for the individual pieces than what the value of the motor would be in running condition:)

yeah its in pieces already and thats how i planned on doing it
thank you by the way for the help on this one
you dont know where i might could procure a new power head do you?( that option is still on the table)

The engine has a top value of less than $1200.00 in operating condition. A new powerhead would be a lot more than that.

i figured as much .... ive got a line on a 90hp yam 3cylinder to replace it so i think im going that route for now the next will be a 60 etec
