Hi everyone. I have been out of the boating community for about 8 years but I have finally moved back to Cape Cod and I was excited to get back on the water. I found a 2003 Hydra-Sport 212 CC on Craigslist and jumped on it. I looked it over, ran it on the hose for 20 min then took it out for 15. Everything seemed to be great so I gave the man some cash. I took it home showed my wife and son and we went for a ride. 15 min into the ride the check engine light came on and it kicked into SLOW mode. It was a 2003 Evinrude FICHT. I changed the plugs and fuel filter and took it out again. Same thing happened. I called the seller told him I was coming back and luckily he was ok with it. He gave me my money back and I gave him $50 to get duplicate titles since he had already signed them over to me. I will take this as a lesson to be more careful when buying used boats.
