I think I found the 40hp for Black Pearl

Ever since I finished the 18hp for the Black Pearl, I have wanted an old 40hp to replace it with. I found one for sale that has no spark. the previous owner bought all the ignition parts and lost interst. So he is selling it for what the new parts cost, $85. They are all still new in the bags.

It does need a new glass fuel bowl. The 40hp is a 64 with electric start. I have a parts '59 18hp, is there any chance the glass fuel bowl will fit? Also, is it safe to assume that the controls and wiring harness will be the same?

very close, if not identical. 40 may have generator. if he has the transom junction box get it.

It has no generator, but does have electric start. I have an extra transome junction box from my other 18hp, but the 40hp doesn't have one with it.
