When I went to the 2 props for the 5.0L engine. The guys and 1 gal stopped saying. HIT IT !!
If they held on ? Slammed them onto the surface. G force compressed some air in my lungs. Out of my lungs.

I was never great. But we were better than average. Tried all kinds of stuff: slalom, knee board, jumping ... we had a great time.

Slalom only for me, I think I'm older than you and by the time I was out on my own they had not been a thing yet.

The longest I lived in one place as a kid was 5 years on Lake Oswego OR. Dad and I would hit the lake at sunrise before school/work. Our school had a ski team and the coach lived on the lake as well. I was friends with their boys, great yellow perch spot off their dock. He kept trying to get me to join the team but id rather spend off time fishing. You know, my fishing (and cleaning said fish) probably put a year or more worth of meals on the family table.

I could never get the hang of it. But my friends had a lot fun dragging me around face down.
Same with skate boards. My best trick was to tic tac while all my buds were all doing the crazy fun stuff.
They couldn’t touch be on a bmx bike though. I was the king of the neighborhood for years.
So I had that 😂
I was into building things and fishing anyway so I wasn’t really into learning how to keep up with them.

Slalom, trick, barefoot … a group of us met at 6am and skied every morning before work and lake traffic picked up. A couple of them skied in ski shows. We were good, if I do say so myself. Then my shoulder kept dislocating from an unrepaired football injury. Hard to reach past the bouy with a short line. Surgery kind of ended my hardcore skiing. It was fun while it lasted.

Brings back memories , I was that good. Skied pro comp slalom in the 70’s and early 80’s. Skied against 2 of the best slalom skiers in the world - the brothers Bob and Kris LaPoint. They were co-world record holders. I could do a couple buoys at 38’ off but they were in a class of their own. If you wanted to beat them you had to run all 6 at 38’ off and venture into the 39 1/2 off, they were amazing. You can find videos of Kris and Bob running slalom courses on the net and YouTube. Great memories . Too old and too much back pain to get on a ski now a days.
