So i went to check on the boat in storage and i guess their was a leak in the shrink wrap and now my bilge is filled with ice up to about 3 or inches below the engine mounts, cause the drain plug wasn't pulled, which is probably my fault i should have checked it after he was done. Its a 1980 22 ft sea ray cuddy cabin, is this a huge issue to where it is now dangerous to drive or is a pretty common situation. I know every situation is different but any input would be appreciated, thank you.

I pulled it on the spot and quite a bit of water came pouring out, im hoping only the surface of the liquid was frozen. we had a recent thaw and freez.

You'll probably be ok.

Keep an eagle eye on the bilge the first time you take the boat out and stay close to the launch, if you start taking on water put the boat right back on the trailer and look for leaks when you pull the trailer out of the water.

If all seems good the first trip out just keep an eye on the bilge the next few times out and pull the plug after every trip to see if you've taken on any water.

Oh, check your bilge pump to see if it froze and busted.

Re: Ice in beilge help

ok thanks for you input guys, i thought i was dealing with a scrap boat for a min there. i was also worried about the pipe going from the front cuddy cabin floor to the rear engine bilge area and under the gas tank and seating area bursting, its pvc from what i can tell, i guess if it wasnt sealed on both ends it wouldn't burst (well hopefully).
