Ice Question

Can someone tell me an easy way to get the ice off of a lake.. It is about 10 miles long. I would greatly appreciate any information that can help me.

Mail me your life's savings and go into the wilderness for 4 weeks. When you return, I (with my special powers) will have called on my firend, the Sun God, to magically melt all your lake's ice.

Pass this to your friends who live on other lakes too. I am willing to help out all those folks who are willing to pay me my fee.

If it was 9 miles long, I could help. 10 miles is just too much. Be patient...it'll thaw before ya know.

Oh that's easy, first get a fleet of 747 fire tankers, say about 300 of em. Then load em up with about 500,000 tons of salt and have em drop it on the lake. Do that 5 or 6 times and you should be good. Make sure you put extra zincs on your boat before you use it.

I was gonna ask the same question myself a couple weeks ago.
Finally got out fishing 2 weeks ago but it was really crappy 10-15 mph wind and 45 to 32 degrees(night fishing)
Going again tommorro and of coarse it is suppose to be high winds and 45 again but at least I can get out, don't think I could live any farther north than I do.
I feel your pain ralphy.

OK OK--I know we all have spring fever---I live just downriver of the corner of the Mississippi and St Croix rivers just south of Mpls-St Paul---and we still have ICE---well, it's just going out--Thur nite was the first towboat and about 10:30 as he passd our house I called him and the Capt said they had just passed thru Lake Pepin( a wide spot in the Mississippi about 45 miles south) and he said when he went thru the lake they busted 18-24" of solid ice-----and we have had snow the last few days---welcome to upper midwest boating

Ice removeal made easy. Step 1 Buy beer. Step 2 Invite friends to the lake. 3 Drink beer with friends. 4 Drain warm filtered beer on the ice. Repeet as often as nessary.
