Re: Ice Road Truckers.................
I had to laugh last night.
The new young lady from New Yoooork arrives. On her test drive, she wants to "flip off" a four wheeler. Her instructor calmly informed her that "Alaskan's carry guns". That blew her mind and gave her a reality check.

Yes, there is a lot of drama, no doubt. But, it is interesting to see how people deal with those conditions. Been there (Prudhoe/Deadhorse), know it.
As far as the "Canadian Front". Hughy's out there beating the hell out of his equipment. I don't think those roads are tougher-just rougher. Speeds are pretty slow but taking a Sleeper Tractor into that environment is just asking for failure. Hughy "barrels on" damming his equipment, or anybody elses', and goes. I'd FIRE him in a minute. Beat up his own stuff, if you will, is his own choice. I just don't think he is SAFE. Plus, his BLUE haired/Mohawk side kick is a loose cannon. He didn't fair to well in India, as I recall.
I've never been a full time trucker. However, I would think that getting a load to a destination UNDAMAGED would be a priority!
The NEW drama is the Alabama Trucker. What a conceited/arrogant piece of work. He thinks he knows it all. As I recall, there aren't any 11%, ice covered grades, in the lower 48.
There is one telling thread throughout the whole drama: Those that are unwilling to learn (know it all's) always fail!
