We have one of those rotary half moon ice cube maker....Which in turn rotates and drops the cube down into a large bin directly underneath the maker......I came home from work to find a rather large very wet spot on my carpet in my dining room, approx 2' from the fridge...I just started watching my parents dog who is on some meds and such, and I immediatly thought she got sick while I was at work...Later this evening,I went to get some ice to make a drink and realized the ice bin which is approx 12"x12"x5" frozen solid....Filled to the brim and I realized thats why my floor was soaked(bummer)..... I have had a problem with half filled trays(hollowed out ice cubes) and all the research I could find pointed to calcium deposits on the self piercing valve into galvanized pipe....(I have yet to fix it as Im in the middle of replumbing the house)....So not sure if that helps or not, but I figured the more info the better...

Why did the tray fill up on its own (Im assuming some kind of flow valve or something) but how can I fix it.

Fridge and icemaker is 4 yrs old.
