ID motor and outdrive

I just purchased a 1966 21' Penn Yan. How do I confirm that it has the original motor and out drive. The motor is an inline 6 with dual carbs.
The out drive has a serial #of 2651264 and I found numbers on the block behind the water separator of 3877178. I have plenty of experience working on older Johnson and Evanrude out boards . But this is my first IO.

Way to old for serial numbers to help. Merc didn't keep track of or lost the info for the early years. Unlike Merc outboards, 1963 was the first real year for Mercruiser outdrives.

You probably have the model 150 engine which is a 230 cu in. l6, and the only one to use dual carbs.
