Hello,
I just acquired a 5HP Sea King in above average original condition! It has had the conversion to a remote tank and came with the original owners manual! I can't find a year of manufacture anywhere in the owners manual. any help would be appreciated. the Serial number is 55x602331, and the Model number is GG9002A. It also came with the original accesory 6 gal. tank, although it looks as if something that absorbed moisture sat next to it and rusted one end of the tank. After wire brushing it has pinholes in it. Can the tank be salvaged with some type of sealant? Thank you for your time!

Ownsbud56

That's a 1956 Gale built 5hp. Have a look at the Gale 25hp post in Outboard Non Repair Discussion.

I guess that's a suction tank is it? If it's a pressure tank, forget about repairing it. Otherwise, there might be some kind of automotive tank patch out there. If you don't want to restore it though I would think your money would be much better spent on a modern plastic tank.
