iddles rough

I have a 1995 force 40 hp -- just bought it<br />have problems with the iddle -- tuned it up<br />replaced filter-- any ideas of what could be wrong- how can i make run better-- and improve the preformance-- new tp outboards help!!!

spiral44 the first thing I would do is a compression test and then check to see if cylinders have a good spark.

A very simple thing you could do is remove the idle mixture screw and see what kind of shape it's in.

What kind of idle problem are you having?<br /><br />If the problem is the engine shaking quite a bit, thats normal.<br /><br />TMD
