I'm pulling one of dads old motors out that he hasn't had running since the mid 70's. still cranks over, but haven't tried to start it. once again, I'd like to find out what year it is, and WIW? model number; C 77047 thank's in advance; Gregory

1949 7.2 hp...C indicates it's a Martin 60/7.2 hp...serial number dates it to 1949. Nice motors, invented/marketed by George Martin...who is still alive. Google his name, there's an interesting news story floating around the Internet ether on this outboard pioneer. First outboard to have poppet valve fuel system, mechanical fuel injection of sorts.
