identifying an engine

feel like such a dope,either an aq an a or a c engine i guess 171 is a positive....4 cyl inline 16 valve is on the valve cover,twin solex carbs.been in my yard 4 a while.sorry 4 lack of info.whenever you accelerate the rear carb has a pulloff that shuts it down...again be kind i feel dumb enough.

If you have an outdrive, then it's an AQ171, the AQ stands for Aqumatic which is what they called their sterndrive engines.
Not familiar with the carb setup on your engine, but here is a link to download the OEM manual that might help you.
