Identifying engine year

Hello all, someone gave me a parts motor and I'm trying to figure out what year it is. I know it is a Johnson 48 spl, 2 cyl. The number on the engine is 048eslccc. I have trying looking it up but haven't found anything. Thanks for any help.

perhaps you have misread it and it should be J48ESLCCC which is a 1988 48 hp model.
