Identifying my mercruiser gimbal housing and ring

Greetings, I purchased a refurbished mercruiser gimbal bellhousing and ring years ago for my 78 fiberform with a 470 and then a 165 inline 4. . I am having trouble identifying it. I am selling it and I don't know what models it fits. I am not able to find a serial number under the decal where it should be. It has a 5/8 water intake. The gimbal ring shows 88301S which is pre alpha? Does it fit anything else? I need help knowing what this will fit. I have someone interested that has a bravo drive. I am unable to answer his question if it fits.

I am also selling a NOS new in box wagner DC60 alternator conversion kit. My boat had the inline 470 then later I put in a 88 rebuilt 165

I just sold the boat. I lost my sweet healthy wife to covid and I just could not bear to keep the boat with the wonderful memories with her on it up at Priest Lake Idaho. The best days ever. I kept some of the things I bought and should sell them now. Any help identifying the outdrive parts and what they will fit is greatly appreciated. I did do some searching but it seems I could not find compatibility information. Just what was made when. Thank you... Allan

Ayuh,...... Welcome Aboard,....... It'll fit a MC-1, with some compatibility with an Alpha 1,....
It's no good at all with a Bravo,......

It will not be compatable with a V6 or V8 application. It will work with a 2.5 and a 3.0 as well as the style engine you have.
The main difference is the centering boss that protrudes where the driveshaft comes through and centers in the inner plate.

Well thank you. I knew from past reading there was an answer here. I will pass it on and edit my ad. I wish I could have kept the boat. But it just was not feeling right. Thank you guys for the help. I will keep checking back in here.
