A bud has a 8 HP Mariner that is 2001 vintage. Unfortunatly, the ID/Serial # plate ( usually on the harness) is missing. (It doesn't look like it was scraped off, it's just gone.) Can the serial /part # of this motor be found anywhere else on the engine? I'm told that it's stamped on the freeze out plug but i'm unsure. Any help appreciated.
