Does anyone know the settings for the idle mixture screws from 'lightly seated' on a 1989 70 HP Yammy?

Re: Idle mixture screws setting.

there is no magic number as the engine needs to tell you what the proper setting is. Start with them about 1-1/2 turn out. Start the engine (in the water, not on muffs). Turn each mixture screw in 1/8 turn at a time, pause for 10 seconds or so, repeat again. At some point the engine will begin to either speed up or slow down. If it begins to slow down, the screws are turned in too far. If the engine speeds up, continue turning in 1/8 increments until the engine begins to slow down. Note that setting. Now go the other way until it again slows down and note that setting. Happiness is somewhere in between the two settings and will have the highest idle speed. Set the idle "speed" screw for proper idle. If the engine bogs slightly when you hammer down, richen the mixture a bit.
