Idle RPM

On a 1991 4.3 cobra Holley bar.Idles at 900 in nutral,but when I put in gear it idles around 500 t0 600 which seems a little slow,especilly when I shift it.What is the correct idle speed in netural and corect idle in gear.The manuals are not clearn on idle speed in gear or out of gear.<br />What is the correct idle speed for by idele out of gear and in grar?<br />Thanks Phil

Idel speed is alway rated in nuetral.<br />Yes it should be slower in gear.<br />Idel speed should be the lowest speed the engine will stay running smoothly without stalling.
