Back again, motor has been doing great, then the dirty carb bug got me. I cleaned to carbs out today and rebuilt them...took forever to get it started right after I put them back on, now it's running good. Question is, where should my RPM's be at dead idle? What setting in neutral and where should they be at "in gear" idle?

1996 Mariner 150hp, carbed/oil injected magnum 3 (0G383790)

Thanks

Thanks.....someone was trying to tell me 800 +/- 100 RPM but that seemed a little high.

Bumped my RPM's up to about 625 (out the water) and it starts alot easier, alot smoother idle, I will fine tune if I have to when I get to the water. When I got the boat it was VERY hard to start and was hard to stay idle. They had it set at about 400 RPM's, probably the same people who installed the water pump gaskets wrong, installed the fuel pump gaskets wrong, and barely set the screws in the float bowls so it dumped gas everywhere. Oh, and they left parts of the old impellar in the pick-up base. It's got a new fuel pump, new entire water pump, and spotless carbs that don't leak now......oh AND correct idle.
