I have a 86 merc 135 black max this motor has been quite the project to say the least a good friend of mine is a mercury mechanic who has been very helpful. I have read on here about running the motor without the idle stab however have not found anything specific to this motor. My mechanic says we need to set the timing at WOT at 16 deg is this correct, I have seen others on the forum for this series of motors say to set at 22-23 deg, my mechanic set it at 16 deg and told me to try it, I just don't want to take it out and run into problems.
Any advise you could give is appreciated.
