Ignition coil not firing!! 351 PCM

I have a 1984 351 PCM, I have replaced the ballast resistor, coil, plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor and points. I am getting what seems to be good voltage, about 11v to the coils positive lead when the points are open and about 5 when the points are closed. I can’t get any spark, I took off the coils center plug that goes to the cap and put a plug in there and grounded it on the head bolts and it didn’t spark at all eather. I don’t know what could be causing the coils not to fire at this point. So my question would be what could I have installed wrong and what test should I do to check. Thank you in advance

make sure you have voltage at the coil positive terminal, attach a spark plug to the coil center terminal wire and hold the threads against a good ground, with the other hand, strike the negative wire from the coil to ground several times per second. check for spark... if theres nothing there, the coil is probably shot.

Do the points open and close as the rotor turns?

If they do, turn key ON and rotate so points are closed. With a piece of wood, reach inside the dizzy and open the points, you should see a spark between points

you have something wrong.

you should always have 12 volts during cranking and about 9 volts with key in run position on coil +

the points simply open and close the path of the negative coil to ground

go back to the points and start troubleshooting.

Thank you, I took the cap off and turned the motor over and it fired the coil. I realized the cap pinched the condenser wire barley, but it must have been shorting out. I replaced the part with the old condenser and it’s sparking now. Now I just have to Hook it up and hopefully it runs.
