ignition coil spec...

[55'Fleetwin7.5]

Does anyone know if the coils on the 55' Fleetwin 7.5 are compatable with the 1959 Fisherman 5.5?

My 59's are shot and i have a spare set from the 55'... Anyone hae an idea if they will work?

Yes, I believe so. If they look the same, they are compatible. OMC switched to a universal magneto system around the mid-fifties. Inspect them closely, though. If there's any cracking or discoloration on the spare ones you have, buy new ones. In fact, you might as well buy new ones, unless the ones you propose installing have a nice blue or gray smooth covering. The old ones universally fail.

Bought them new last year for a back-up power head.... great chance to show my 12 year old the magic of good 'ol infernal combustion! Thanks
