I have a '89 Mercruiser 4.3 with 2B Mercarb.<br />Engine just stops after running for 30 minutes or so, no sputtering, just dies like it was turned off. When I trailer it the 40 minutes home and put the muffs on it fires up fine and runs, unable to re-create out of water. I believe an ignition component is failing due to heat, I had no spark on the water. What is the most likely ignition component that could have heat related failure, coil, sensor, ignition amplifier. I was getting voltage at the coil terminal and at the ignition sensor from the ignition amplifier during failure.
