Hey all,

I just did the engine coupler on my Bayliner 2050 w/ Mercruiser 5.7 and Alpha One, I didn't remove the engine, I just disconnected it and supported it while moving it 6 inches forward to get to the coupler. In the process I'm pretty sure I only removed the 3 ground wires that attached to the bell housing bolt and the main harness connector, I reconnected everything and now my 20 amp ignition fuse keeps popping instantly the second I turn the key, but everything else works, trim, bilge, blower, etc...I checked the wiring diagram and it shows all the grounds go directly to that bell housing ground bolt. Am I missing another ground somewhere?

Tx, want o see if you have an electric fuel pump

When moving the motor forward to replace coupler the Alternator connections may have been damaged or wire chaffed. One is the purple ignition wire

Also look in this location where the chain was connected, along with the 10 pin connector

purple/blue yellow wire from the ignition switch

Have not seen those colors on the ignition switch

Red/Purple = main power
Purple = Ignition
Yellow/Red = Start

Found the issue, the purple wire end was touching the support bar for the power steering cooler -.-
