1975 Johnson 135HP
I have been getting intermintent spark on the left bank. with the plugs out and a spark tester, when I cranked the engine I would get spark for a few cranks and then it would stop firing. (Engine is spinning fast, 875CCA)
The right bank fire correctly.
After close inspection, one of the wires that connect from the recifier to the stator terminal block , the insulation was cracked and some wire was exposed and shorting to ground "sometimes". I repaired the wire and now I am getting fire to all cylinders.
Do you guys really think thats the culprit??
