So, this is my first engine swap. I put all my accessories on my 5.7 long block and started it up out of the boat. Started and ran fine. Put it in the boat..plug in the wiring harness...cranks, no start. Put the jumper wires in the plug..fires up and runs. Sounds like I am missing a ground somewhere or something. Anyone else had this issue?

Purple is the ignition circuit,....
Yellow/ red is the start circuit,...

I will check that and back to you! If it's not. Where do I go from there?

Take a small screwdriver and gently spread each pin in the cannon plug. Sometimes that can cause the problem.
Also check that the shift interrupter is wired correctly or that it is not in the triggered position.

Thanks! It was the shift interrupter. Got it to fire right up now. Now, the issue I am dealing with is, it won't start after it's hot. Just cranks. Acts like it wants to start, but won't crank up. Wait a while, and it'll fire right up again.

Check if there is 12 volts at the +/bat side of the coil when cranking, you may either have a bad “bypass” circuit from the main starter solenoid or it is not connected. It is the purple wire on the outboard side of the solenoid.
