CHRYSLER 135 I have old O/B that's been in storage for several years since last use. Want to try to run but the Solid State Ignition Module seems to have oozed out some kind of a purple goo that has dripped all over. Are these modules available & if so from who? Don't know year but Model # is 135 9 HG & s/n 10699.

If I replace this is there any chance engine will run or has the goo ruined it.... Anybody seen this before?

Re: Ignition Module GOO

The dreaded purple goo....It usually means that the CD is bad, but sometimes the engine would still work for a little while. You might still be able to order one through a Mercury dealer. Once you replace the pack the engine will be as good as new....though that's not a confidence builder in my opinion.

Thanks for the prompt reply. From your response I guess I'm not the first case of this!

I'll try to buy one.
