I left the ignition key on all night on my 1990 115 Mariner.

Would it have hurt anything?

The battery is still up and I hit the key and it whirled over fine.
I did not try to start it cause I had no water hooked up.

Just wondering if it could have burned anything up.

Re: Ignition on!!!

That should not hurt anything because all the off position does is ground out the ign. to kill the engine. When it's in the on position it just has that ground open so it will run. So you should be alright, noting I know of that it can hurt.

Re: Ignition on!!!

SBN
As boater2 says, the ignition switch simply grounds out the ignition. The only issue that could arise is the lowering of the battery's state of charge,.pending on how your accessories, lights etc. are wired and/or left on. :)
