have a 1973 evinrude outboard 50 hp two stroke with remote ignition and throttle and such. ignition just doesn't work previous owner said it burnt up while on the water and he replaced it but still no dice. i can almost get it apart but got stuck and didn't want to go to far without knowing. i bought a manual off like and got ripped off, i was just wondering if anyone new an easy way to take out the ignition solenoid and test it??? or do i have to remove it from the wall of my boat and take it apart??? sorry for dumb questions im just very salty about buying a down loadable manual that sucked a**. Thanx guys.

Re: ignition problem

You can order a proper paper factory manual right here on iboats.com. Just click the appropriate link at the top of the page and then scroll down to your outboard.

It's the only way to go.
