Second cylinder is not firing and the 4 cylinder is sparking very slowly not fast like the other two. I was just using a timing light and the 1 and 3rd cyliders were firing the same. First thing i did was replace the module that had no spark, that didnt fix anything. I was told the stator was replaced last season hopefully its not that. Only one of the coils looks new. Are the coils identical? can i switch them around for testing purposes? does one of the coils control 2 and 4 cylinder or 1 and 3? Oh, can i use the blue coils and modules with my system. I believe mine is prestolite, there all black. Any suggestions would be great. thanks. 1987 force 125

Re: Ignition problems 125 force

One thing you can do to check your coils is to swap the red and orange wires that come from the CD Module to the coils. If the proplem stays in the same cylinder then you have a bad coil. If the problem follows then you have either a bad CD Module or a bad Stator. You can check the CD Modules by swapping the plugs that have the green and yellow wire that go to the Stator. I had the same proplem and found that I had a bad CD Module. If I were you I would definatly pickup that unit on e-bay. I paid more then that for just 1 CD Module. Those modules run about 650.00 from a boat shop but I found mine for 190.00 because I didn't want to wait. You get both modules and all 4 coils for that price.
