Hi Guys sorry if I butcher this but here it goes... Went to start the boat yesterday for some Labor Day Beaching and it wouldn't start... Made sure all batteries were fully charged. When I turn the key nothing... Really nothing, no clicking no turnover. THe gauages jump as if they are shorting or getting juice... Talked to a friend who mentioned that the sending wire that goes to the Ignition switch indicating that the engine is in neutral is probably shot. makes sense it sounds like it could be the problem. He claims I could cut it, get through the weekend (just make sure I am not in gear when starting). Probablem is I can figure out which wire it is... Anyone know what I am talking about? Please and thanks

Cisco
1992 23' Seaswirl with a Cobra OMC 5.0 Enigine outdrive...

That sounds much more like a bad ground problem.
99% of all wierd electrical problems are bad grounds.
First check all the battery terminal connections...remove them and clean.
Then check the connection of the ground lead to the engine. Remove it and clean.

Does this boat have a kill switch with a cord? If so make sure it's attached to the switch. I believe it will allow the guages to be powered but won't let power through the starting circuit much like the neutral safety switch

It does, that will allow you to turn the engine over but not to run... basically sounds like it isn't getting fuel when the Kill switch is activated. Found that out when my daughter pulled it off when I wasn't looking.. LOL

Cisco
