ignition switch woes

on a 79 70 hp merc, the new ignition switch has 2 magneto hook ups which one is which all the rest i think i figured out i just cant get the motor running unless i use the old switch<br />thanks in advance

I just bought an new ignition switch today and there's 2 M's in the back...one is ground and the other is the stop circuit...hope this helps.<br /><br />I have the colors of the cables to match which letter if you need it.

PLEASE FORWARD ME THE SERIAL NUMBER<br />AND I CAN LOOK AT THE IGNITION SYSTEM BLUEPRINT

thanks guys for all the help. i bench tested both switches to see what terminal came on and hooked them up that way. everything works. if anybody needs the color codes, this time i wrote them all down including the conversion from the old switch to new<br />again thanks to all
