I have a 1979 Chrysler Striper. I broke a connector off on the back of the keyed stater switch on the dashboard.

I don't see how it can be repaired so I'm looking for a replacement. I understand Chrysler no longer manufactures this boat (if any). I can't find the original part anywhere. The switch has a "Push To Choke" feature. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement?

Re: Ignition Switch

Hangtown,

You can get most switches through Overtons or Bass Pro catalogs. Also check you local marine dealers. Just hknow how many post on back side and look for push to choke. I know they are available here for about $25 to $30.

Re: Ignition Switch

My existing switch has 6 post but only uses 4.
I found a switch with 6 post (with a push choke).

My concern now, is how do I match up the wiring to the correct post. Should I follow the wiring pattern on the existing switch. I don't want to hook up the positive to negative, choke to positive, ect.

H T,look carefully at terminals they are usually labeled And both switches may have the same
labels. There is a color code chart at:
www.brokeboats.com colors are probably not the same but it may give you an idea what each circuit does. Try the library for a manual
there may be a schematic there.
