Ignition Timing Volvo Penta 5.7 GXi

I have a 2002 FourWinns with a 5.7 GXi and I need to re-set the timing on it (replacing distributor)

Can someone tell me how to do it and the specifications needed?

8 degrees after you put it into Service Mode. In older models, there were 2 pins you connected on the DLC connector. Not sure what it is on yours though

Bruce I have a 2001 5.7 GXI and my DLC had I think 6 pins. I think the manual had me jumper the black wire to the white and black stripe wire to get in the base mode. I used my old Sears pensky timing light that does not have advance. 8 deg advance = 5/8" to the left of the crank timing slot. Someone here posted the procedure for me. Dave-R
