Hi
Does anyone know where to get inexpensive replacement ignition wire? I want to replace mine on my 56 evinrude 30hp. I can get the wire, but the boot ends and clips i can not seem to find. The local autoparts stores you have to by a whole kit which is expensive.
thanks for your help.

make sure the wire you get is metal core (not automotive carbon core) Sierra sells a kit .

The boots can be had from evinrude and are nicer than any jobber that I found.

I don't think Iboats sells BRP. They will have the Sierra wires though. The Sierra boots are ugly

Can I use standard plug wires for a tractor? the local farm supply store sells wire kits for a 4cyl tractor for $12. Also does it matter if I use 7mm or 8mm wire?
thanks

Nothing special about the wires of that era. Solid metal core. All I can tell you is, some silicone based wire insulations do not stand up to oil. They swell up like a weiner and then fail.
The bigger the wire size the better, but mounting and routing gets tougher.
